Lookout - Mobile Data Security App Reviews

If you read the privacy policy clearly. you can easily see that they scan everything about your device and they share your credit card number. They dont have your personal info but they do have where you live. Although the app does its job well its privacy policy is lethal. With that kind of info the third party services they work with are capable of complete havoc on your devices system.

The app just doesnt work. I keep getting notifications saying my iPhone & Watch are almost out of range with each other (and this is when the watch is on my wrist and my phone is in my pocket). Either the Bluetooth antenna is really bad or this app absolutely sucks. My money is on the latter.

I have an Apple Watch and once set my iPhone down on a picnic bench and forgot and walked away.(Did manage to recover iPhone) So looking for something to buzz when the Watch goes out of contact with iPhone. This doesnt work effectively for that. Even with sensitivity all the way down, Ive had it go off when my phone is in my pocket and watch on my wrist. You end up with a bunch of taptic alerts on your wrist from Lookout and that is no good because you dont want your body to get trained to ignore them. I think RF signals are a bit flaky and you need some type of debounce software so that momentary drops in signal dont trigger the alert. Id also want an alarm only when the contact is broken, not just when the signal is low.

This is a wonderful little app! Does what it says it does on my iPhone 5s, and is not invasive. Its one of those things I think everybody should really have.

I got this as it linked to a recent article on security risks on the iPhone (now fixed with the latest iOS update). It is supposed to check for virus-related items on your phone, and it can alert you when your iPhone loses contact with you (e.g. your Apple watch). The problem? I was constantly getting alerts about “my phone being out of range”, even when the phone was in my pocket, so I trashed the program. I cannot judge whether the app fulfills its other functions, eg. checking to see if there is a virus on your phone.

I was looking for an easy way to help not to forget my iPhone and this work very well. Not many false alert. And the best, its free for what I use it for. I get a notification on my watch if Im between 20-30 away from my phone. Of course if you leave your phone in a vault with thick walls, youll get a notification at 5-10 feet away, but any device your react like that. Ive read their Terms of Service and I couldnt fing any hidden phrase that would allow them to share personnal information to others. Any way, I havent shared my contacts list with the app, I never allow this for any apps anyway, and Ive turned of the Backup option too... But thats me... You can pay a monthly fee for more options, but the free version is enough for my needs. Good work... Oh! I almost forgot, the tech support is REALLY GOOD, fast and courteous.

Dont download it. Just a waste of time, I wasnt able to log in.

Who in their right mind would send a backup of their photos and contacts to this company? You can already do all that backup with iCloud. Big privacy fail. Save the space on your phone and protect your privacy by not installing this app

my watch and phone are next to eachother and i didnot change anything but i keep getting out of range messages from the app. at least 10 times in last couple hours. can somebody fix that?

Installed and unsistalled in few minutes. Unable to sign in. Waste of time.

Lookout sent warnings I need to update to ios10 to be safe. I normally wait a few days for initial bugs to be worked out. This time I trusted the lookout advice. MISTAKE! Thanks a bunch lookout.

sometimes it works. At other times is says the phone is out of range when it right beside the watch. Not reliable
